Java Resists Transparent Distribution

چکیده
What would be today's programming language of choice for distributed computing in the Internet? Few would doubt that it should be Java [Arnold/Gosling 96], given its platform independence and the possibility of loading Java applets over the network. So if the prophets and the faithful are right, the basic design and the special features of Java should make distributed programming easy for the end user.

Class Transformations for Transparent Distribution of Java Applications
The indirection of object accesses is a common theme for target domains as diverse as transparent distribution, persistence, and program instrumentation. Virtualizing accesses to fields and methods (by redirecting calls through accessor and indirection methods) allows interposition of arbitrary code, extending the functionality of an application beyond that intended by the original developer. W...
متن کاملTransparent Distributed Java
We describe our modi cations to the Ka e Java runtime to support transparent distribution of Java threads and objects across multiple processors and machines. We also discuss the design of a shared object system used by the Java runtime to provide transparent object sharing to Java applications. Although we also implemented a version for symmetric multiprocessors (SMPs), this paper focuses on a...
متن کاملTransparent Distribution of Remote Java Objects
Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) is a built-in and easy-to-use framework for the distribution of remote Java objects. Its simplicity and seamless inter-virtual machine communication has made it a valuable tool for distributed services. It nevertheless exhibits certain constraints that practically limit RMI applications to the classical client/server distribution model, and make highly distri...

متن کاملDesign of very transparent fluoropolymer resists for semiconductor manufacture at 157 nm
Photolithography at 157 nm requires development of new photoresists that are highly transparent at this wavelength. Transparent fluoropolymer platforms have been identified which also possess other materials properties required for chemically amplified imaging and aqueous development. Polymers of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), a fluoroalcohol-substituted norbornene and an acid-labile acrylate ester...
